Mark Zuckerberg has created a baby time capsule with a powerful message for his newborn daughter Max.
The Facebook CEO and wife Dr. Priscilla Chan shared a touching video on his social media platform Wednesday that was recorded prior to their baby girl’s arrival.
“A few weeks before Max’s birth, Priscilla and I took a morning to reflect and record our hopes for her and all children of her generation,” Zuckerberg, 31, wrote. “It will be deeply meaningful to show this to her one day.”
In the two-minute clip, the couple share their hopes for Max’s future specifically about “all the things that should be improved” in the world.
“The only way we reach our full human potential is if we unlock the potential of every person around the world,” the first-time father shared in the video.
“We need to make sure that there are investments and programs that insure that the future isn’t going to be like today. The future is going to be better than today,” Chan added.
In fact the Zuckerbergs announced the foundation of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, an organization with the mission to advance human potential and promote equality.
In an open letter to their daughter, the proud parents revealed they will contribute 99 percent of their Facebook shares (worth about $45 billion) during their lives to advance the cause.
