Many happy returns to the littlest Liu!
On Saturday, Lucy Liu wished her son Rockwell Lloyd a happy first birthday with a sweet photo and message on Instagram.
“Happy 1st birthday to my little love Rockwell!” she wrote next to a snap of her son at the Bronx Zoo, wearing a birthday hat and taking in a monkey exhibit.
“This has been the most incredible year of new adventures and endless fun,” the Elementary actress, 47, added. “Giant thanks for everyone’s generosity.”
Lucy Liu welcomed son Rockwell Lloyd via gestational surrogacy eight months ago, but the actress remembers it like it was yesterday.
“I cried when he came out,” Liu, 47, told PEOPLE while promoting Tylenol’s #HowWeFamily campaign on Wednesday.
“I think ‘How We Family’ is about how we as a modern family are connecting now. Whether it’s your gay parents and you’re doing it that way, or you have a child that’s transgender, it’s more about how you love.”
She adds, “I think that’s a really wonderful way to support non-traditional families and make what we are doing now what is tradition.”

Lucy Liu‘s son has some serious onesie swagger.
The actress’s 4-month-old baby boy, Rockwell Lloyd, sported yet another adorable one-piece — this time a “Keep calm and hug your labrador” outfit — to celebrate the New Year on Friday.
“Happy new year from all of us,” Liu, 47, captioned a cute candid of her smiling son laying next to the family’s chocolate lab.

The actress shared a photo of her little boy Rockwell Lloyd, 3 months, to Instagram on Wednesday in a special red onesie with the text, “I’m all that and dim sum.”
The cute outfit also featured a graphic of a traditional Cantonese steamed bun. Both of Liu’s parents were born in China, the home country of the delicious dish.
“When it’s your birthday and you’re feeling…” Liu, who celebrated her 47th birthday on Tuesday, wrote of her smiling baby.

The actress took to Instagram to share an adorable, smiley photo of her 10-week-old son, Rockwell Lloyd.
“Mood #Rockwell,” Liu, 46, captioned the pic.
In the photo, the chubby-cheeked baby boy rests on a bird-printed blanket with a stuffed animal near as he smiles for the photo.

Lucy Liu is a new mom!
The actress “is the proud mother of Rockwell Lloyd Liu, brought into the world via gestational carrier,” Liu’s rep confirms to PEOPLE, adding that he arrived Thursday, Aug. 27. “Mom and baby are healthy and happy.”
The Elementary star, 46, shared a photo of her son via social media with the caption, “Introducing the new little man in my life, my son Rockwell Lloyd Liu. In [love]!”
While Rockwell is her first child, the actress has dedicated herself for years to helping children around the world, volunteering with UNICEF since 1994. Liu says being the daughter of two Chinese immigrants helped her to value what she had and made her want to help others.
