Kristen Bell spends her days working on NBC’s The Good Place. But for the mother of two, spending time at home with her family is a pretty good place, too.

“I had a great support system when I became pregnant and started raising my babies. I couldn’t have done it without asking a million questions. I think every mother deserves to have access to that support system,” Bell told PEOPLE at the Alliance of Moms Presents Raising Baby in Los Angeles, which included workshops led by experts in child development and brain development.

She adds, “There’s no excuse for us not to be the village for people who need it.”

Kristen Bell‘s daughters might not have been overwhelmingly impressed with Frozen, but the actress has a new gig that just might pique their interest — and this time Dad’s getting involved, too.

PEOPLE can exclusively reveal that Bell and her husband Dax Shepard are teaming up to lend their voices to a new children’s TV show, Terrific Trucks, coming to NBCUniversal’s kid-TV outlet Sprout this Saturday.

“Mainly I’m jealous of my wife’s outstanding voiceover career and I’m really trying to bite at her heels,” Shepard quips to PEOPLE. “That’s the one thing she’s really got me on — well, there’s a few things, but that’s certainly one of them.”

All jokes aside, Shepard, 41, says working together is one of the couple’s “favorite ways to spend time together.”

Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell might be America’s most adorable parents, but don’t expect their family to be growing anytime soon.

During a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, Shepard talked about how having two kids — daughters Lincoln, 3, and Delta, 17 months — is “exponentially” harder than having just one. It’s so much harder, in fact, that he recently eliminated any chance he and Bell had to have any more children.

“Last year, my wife was working in Atlanta. We were there and she all of a sudden goes, ‘Oh my gosh! I’m so stupid. I’ve been sick for 10 days and ignoring it — I’m definitely pregnant,’ ” he says. “I was like, ‘We’re going to turn into Jon and Kate Plus 8 or something. We already have no life! This is going to be not worth living.’ I freaked out. It was so bad.”

Kristen Bell wants to know why her kids wake up screaming.

During a Monday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Boss actress talked about her not-so-quiet mornings with her daughters Lincoln, 3, and 15-month-old Delta.

“It’s a circus. It’s a circus for sure. I love it. I love them,” Bell, 35, told host Ellen DeGeneres. “But, you know what? You know where we could do better? Why does everyone wake up screaming?

She continued: “Like, why don’t they tell you that? Like, ‘they’re going to wake up screaming for, like, four years.’ You wake up — the moment you wake up, you’re in, like, a horror movie, because everyone in the house is screaming bloody murder!”

With two young daughters at home — not to mention two busy acting careers — Kristen Bell and husband Dax Shepard have a pretty packed schedule that leaves little time for socializing.

So when it came time to shoot a new ad campaign with Samsung appliances, there wasn’t that much acting involved because the clips mirror their own chaotic lives!

“The premise of this commercial is we have two kids, all of our friends have two or more kids, going out to a restaurant is suicide, so if you want to hang, it’s gonna be a house party,” Shepard, 40, tells PEOPLE. “It revolves around us trying to hang out with our friends and prepare for that.”

But despite their polar-opposite upbringings in Michigan, Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell now find themselves married and completely in love.

“We come from such a different starting point, and I do think it’s probably the neatest thing about life,” the Parenthood star, 40, says during an appearance on Off Camera with Sam Jones, airing Wednesday at 10 p.m. on Audience Network.

“We live in the same house, we have the same two kids, we make the same amount of money, we have the same job … Look how different a path you can take and end up in the exact same spot in life. It’s insane.”
