Supermom, anyone?

Just a couple of weeks after giving birth to her twins – daughter Gaia Jissel and son John Aether – Dania Ramirez  was back on the Devious Maids set, ready to work.

“I also went to work two and a half weeks after I had the babies,” the actress, 36, told reporters at the Devious Maids season 4 premiere party on Thursday. “And it’s twins. So you can imagine, I still can’t wrap my head around it. I still ask myself this question every single day.”

Ramirez adds, “I think it was a really good learning experience for me as an actress and, also, as a mother. I didn’t really have time to double guess anything.”

Devious Maids star Dania Ramirez is determined that her twins, Gaia Jissel and John Aether, grow up to be bilingual — and luckily her family is completely on board.

“My cousin Yoli is here from Mexico, and she’s been helping me with the kids since the very start. She only speaks Spanish to the babies,” Ramirez, 35, told PEOPLE at the L.A. Art Show Opening Night, benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in downtown Los Angeles.

“We just started reading them books in Spanish as well. Just trying to tell them all the stories in English and Spanish so they can be fluent,” she says.

While her 1-year-olds aren’t showing off their foreign language skills quite yet, Ramirez sees her efforts paying off. “I have everyone speaking to them in Spanish [so] I think they might understand it a little better right now,” she explains.

Dania Ramirez has reason to celebrate: she’s expecting a boy and a girl!

The Devious Maids star made the big reveal during her Sept. 21 baby shower at Pearl’s in West Hollywood, where family and friends gathered to honor the pending arrival of her double bundle of joy.

Guests — among them costars Ana Ortiz, Roselyn Sánchez, Judy Reyes and Edy Ganem and show creator Marc Cherry — noshed on brunch bites including mini French toast, eggs benedict and an assortment of quiches.

After playing games and decorating a laundry line of onesies, everyone joined Ramirez outside to release monarch butterflies before she announced the sex of her babies. While enjoying Crumbs red velvet cupcakes, a toast was made to the mom-to-be with ZING Vodka cocktails and Caraccioli Cellars sparkling rosé.

When Dania Ramirez went to her doctor three weeks ago, she got some “incredible” news — the Devious Maids star was expecting twins!

“I had the first appointment and the woman who’s doing the sonogram looks and says, ‘Oh, I love to start my morning with great news!'” Ramirez, 33, tells PEOPLE. “My husband [John Beverly Amos Land] was like, ‘Okay, we already know she’s pregnant…’ and she goes, ‘Oh no — it’s going to be two!'”

“My husband was like, ‘What?’ And then she goes, ‘Hold on, let me look for a third,’ and my husband says, ‘Get that out of her right now!'” the actress recalls with a laugh.

Ramirez says she never expected to have twins — even though they do run in her family.
