Christine Lakin, who gave birth to daughter Georgia James in March, has been a busy bee. In between tending to her newborn daughter with husband Brandon Breault and finding time to blog about her experiences as a new mom, she has also put together a stunning nursery fit for any southern belle.

“I wanted to bring a touch of southern style to Georgia’s nursery, and love the way the peach and pink colors pop out against the gray,” Lakin, 37, tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Christine Lakin is a new mom!

Best known for her role as Al Lambert on the ’90s hit series Step by Step, the actress also has a recurring role as the voice of news anchor Joyce Kinney on Family Guy. She will next appear in Mother’s Day and the independent film The Ledger.

Lakin, 37, and Brandon Breault were married in October 2014.

In November, the mom-to-be announced she was pregnant and expecting a baby girl.

The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Georgia James, on March 6.

Christine Lakin‘s baby girl certainly is a peach!

The former Step by Step star and her husband, actor Brandon Breault, welcomed their first child on Sunday, March 6, she announced via Instagram.

Daughter Georgia James weighed in at 5 lbs., 13 oz.

“We are overjoyed and so in love,” Lakin, 37, captioned a photo of her newborn.

After marrying in October 2014, the couple announced in November that they were expanding their family.

Both stars attended Big City Moms Biggest Baby Shower Ever at the Skirball Cultural Center’s Guerin Pavilion in Los Angeles, California, on Monday, scoping out the goods from over 100 vendors.

Patridge, who is pregnant with her first child with fiancé Corey Bohan, showed off her growing baby bump in a black dress. The 30-year-old paired the look with a brown fedora and a wrist full of bangles.

Step by step, Christine Lakin is getting closer to welcoming her baby girl.

Her latest milestone: A sweet baby shower thrown by family and friends at a private Hollywood Hills home on Sunday.

“It was the most beautiful and most fun shower I’ve ever been to,” the actress, who’s due with her first child in March, tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The peach-themed baby bash — the southern motif called for beautiful bouquets from Bashful Rose — was hosted by Good Carma Studio and attended by fellow mom-to-be DeAnna Pappas Stagliano, Kelly Sullivan and Stacy Kenan.

Christine Lakin is expanding her family — Step By Step.

The actress, best known for playing Al Lambert on the classic sitcom, is expecting a baby — a girl! — in March, her rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

This will be the first child for Lakin and her husband, actor Brandon Breault, whom she married in October 2014.

“We feel so lucky to bring a child into the world and look forward to raising her with love, laughter and compassion, in a time when these things seem challenged,” the actress tells PEOPLE.
