Benedict Cumberbatch is loving being a dad to 5-month-old son Christopher Carlton.

“I’ve become a father and a husband, and in the right order — just,” the Sherlock star joked to host Graham Norton on his BBC show. “I might go for a (Cumber) batch of boys!”

Cumberbatch, 39, and wife Sophie Hunter welcomed their son in June, following the couple’s February wedding in their native England.

Since welcoming their first child on June 1, actor Benedict Cumberbatch and wife Sophie Hunter managed to keep their 3-month-old son‘s name under wraps — until now.

PEOPLE has confirmed the name of their newborn, Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch, and it’s perhaps the most dapper moniker of them all. Carlton is a family middle name that has been passed down, shared by both the actor, his father and now the new addition.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son, the rep said shortly after the birth. We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during these next few precious weeks.

Actor Benedict Cumberbatch is a first-time father after welcoming a son with his wife, Sophie Hunter, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.

“Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son,” the rep said in a statement. “We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during these next few precious weeks”

Two months after announcing their engagement, Cumberbatch’s rep confirmed to PEOPLE in January that the couple were starting a family together.

“I am delighted to confirm that Benedict and Sophie are expecting their first child,” his rep said at the time.

This cumber-baby already has an incredible sense of style.

Actor Benedict Cumberbatch and his date for the evening, fiancée Sophie Hunter, were all smiles as they walked the red carpet at Sunday’s Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

And the pair — who are expecting their first child — looked impeccable.

While Cumberbatch looked dapper in a traditional tux, the mom-to-be dazzled in a floral frock from Erdem, paired with diamond earrings and a rosy pink lip.

After the show, Cumberbatch, 38, who was nominated for best actor for his role in The Imitation Game, and the mom-to-be attended The Weinstein Company and Netflix’s post-show celebration (sponsored by Fiji Water), where the actor chowed down on a Fatburger. Ever the gentleman, Cumberbatch offered a bite to Hunter, but she made a face and turned down his dinner offer.

A Cumber-baby is on the way!

Benedict Cumberbatch and his fiancée Sophie Hunter will become parents later this year, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.

“I am delighted to confirm that Benedict and Sophie are expecting their first child,” his rep tells PEOPLE. “They are both over the moon.”

It is the first child for the couple, whose surprise November engagement set off a social media frenzy.

Cumberbatch — who earned best actor Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations for his role in The Imitation Game — and Hunter, 36, walked the red carpet together Saturday at the 26th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival.

The theatre director and actress wore a flowy, patterned dress and the actor said his main focus was on the upcoming awards shows and filming a new season of his hit TV series, Sherlock.
