Ashley Jones is a mom!

The former star of The Bold and the Beautiful gave birth to a baby boy on Tuesday, May 24, she confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

Born at 7:06 p.m., son Hayden Joel Henricks weighed 7 lbs., 9 oz. and measured 21 inches long. He joins big brother Huck, 4, husband Joel Henricks‘ son from a previous relationship.

“Holding our first child the minute he arrived was the most mesmerizing, perfect moment,” Jones tells PEOPLE. “Everyone says it, but they say it for a reason: my heart bursts with joy and love. I feel this deep need to protect.”

Jones is known for her roles on True Blood and The Bold and the Beautiful. She has produced and starred in movies for Lifetime, as well as recurred and guest-starred on many television shows — most recently, CSI: Cyber and Criminal Minds. Jones, 39, also appeared in the 2015 comedy The Wedding Ringer.

She’ll return to her current role on General Hospital this summer, as well as in the independent film Good After Bad.

Jones is married to Joel Henricks, and they are expecting their first child together — a boy — any day now. The newest member of the family will join Henricks’ 4-year-old son, Huck.

When it comes to motherhood, Ashley Jones is already walking on the wild side.

The mom-to-be — who’s expecting a son with husband Joel Henricks in May — celebrated the upcoming arrival of their baby boy with a safari-themed high tea baby shower thrown by good friends Kaley Cuoco and Marisa Coughlan on Saturday.

Hosted by her girlfriends at the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake, California, the baby bash brought together Jones’ friends and family, including moms-to-be Lacey Chabert and Ali Fedotowsky, new moms Amy Davidson and Haylie Duff, and The Guncles, Bill Horn and Scout Masterson.

“When I arrived, I saw sweet Kaley and almost started crying. It was a safari paradise,” Jones, who wore a dress from Seraphine maternity, tells PEOPLE exclusively.
