Halle Berry is one mama you do not want to mess with.

The 50-year-old actress recently clapped back at an Instagram troll who criticized a recent photo Berry shared of her children Nahla, 8, and 3-year-old son Maceo.

Berry posted a shot of the children showing only their smiles and bodies — but cropping their faces. One Instagram critic called the star out, writing, “What’s with the hiding of the faces? They’re beautiful children why not show them off?”

The Kidnap actress responded, noting that this isn’t the first time the critic has given an unsolicited opinion.

“I’ve noticed you have said this several times now so let me be clear — I’m not at all ashamed of [my] children. I try to find creative ways to incorporate them into my feed because they are the biggest part of my life, but I also work very hard to keep their identities as private as I can considering they are only children,” she wrote.

“It’s my belief, and I’m not criticizing others who have different beliefs, that it’s my job as their mother to protect their privacy as best I can. When they grow and they’re of age and they want [to] share their images on the internet, that will be for them to decide, not me. Feel me? Have a beautiful day.”

Berry didn’t seem too fazed by the Instagram spat though, as she was showing off her silly side just hours later.

Much like the rest of the 🌎, I can never get enough @adele. #daydreamer

Bye on

Dear People magazine, your popup adds are so annoying I’m not going to visit your site anymore. I can read all this $hit and more from somewhere else.

Hey I have an idea, don’t post your kids pictures at all. Simple

Madison on

If you want to protect their privacy as much as you can, keep them off your feed. Period. Now go away.

that was a huge overreaction- the poster never said Halle was embarrassed, they just asked why the faces are cropped.. the fact that Halle took that to mean she is ashamed and equated that to bullying speaks volumes to her character.

Most overused word on People and other entertainment news sites: Slammed! There is no slamming here . . . .she responded to someone’s question.

Funny but I’d say this off topic from what this article is about but if Halle had been held at gun point and robbed loads more people would be sympathetic!!!

Usually when I see pictures like this it’s taken from behind the child and shows the back of their heads and bodies like they’re looking at something in the opposite direction. They look more photogenic that way even without seeing their faces. Heck, they’d even look photogenic if it was a picture of the top half of their face. But a picture of the bottom half makes it look like some other kid got ahold of the camera/phone and took a picture.

Halle Halle Halle… still fine!

Not exactly a “slam”.

You got girl! Sarah Michelle Gellar also takes pictures of her kids but in very discreet ways. It’s all about protecting your kids 😊

What happened to the Disqus part of comments on this web site?

There are pictures of her kids faces all over the internet. Why start cropping them now?

If the trolls had an ounce of common sense they wouldn’t need to post comments regarding Halles choices of how she presents her kids on social media. Halle doesn’t owe you or anyone else anything when it comes to her children.

Yet she had NO problem continually humiliated her daughter’s father publicly. She is a vile, vindictive, despicable woman and mother.

Ann on

She complains too much.

Om on

Halle is still fine!

I don’t think its a slam, she is just responding the comments.

I agree with Halle Berry. She has every right to safeguard her children’s privacy. No one has a right to criticize her for waiting for her children choosing to show their images.

Voil on

Halle looks great at age 50 in the picture.
