Watson and Yana were married on Valentine’s Day last year in Paris, France. In May, the new father took to Instagram to share that his wife was expecting.

“We are happy to announce that Yana is four months pregnant with our son,” he wrote. “We planned for and patiently waited for this moment together. We feel happy and privileged to give birth to this future little warrior. My wife is doing well and is very happy to be pregnant and we are both looking forward to the birth in late September.”

“With Yana as a mother, I know that our child will be loved and that together we will strive to see that he will be compassionate, courageous and strong,” he continued. “Yana will be a very caring and attentive mother and we look forward to having a very happy family.”

Watson has one other child, Lilliolani, born in 1980, from a previous relationship.

Watson has been working with his close friend, actress Pamela Anderson, to combat the slaughter of seals as members of the Board of Directors for Sea Shepherd. Earlier this year, Anderson, 49, shared a letter Watson penned, titled “I Do Not Apologize for Opposing the Slaughter of Seals.”

So it’s ok for an older woman to become a mother but an older dad isn’t?
I had my kids when I was 23 and 28. (Married at 20, still married at 44)
When they entered kindergarten, most of the other parents were either 20 or 40+.
If people wait to have kids until they’re in a better relationship, have more emotional and financial stability, then I’m all for it.
Tiger is ok – I get the vibe they were going for – and Shepherd would’ve been good BUT …
….they could’ve called him Ishmael. 😂

So excited for them. Welcome to the world, Tiger. Congrats to Paul and Yana! Another animal rights warrior is born. God bless this family.

His other child is 36 years old….just so odd. He should be enjoying time as a grandpa and he has a newborn now. I’m all for people getting their happily ever after, but when it comes to bringing children into the world think of them too. He doesn’t even look like a healthy older man, the chances he will see this child reach adulthood are slim (and before someone starts with the anyone could die at anytime bs, yeah, we all could die at any minute, but the CHANCES that you will die at 30 vs 65 are very, very different.)

This is gross. I’m sorry. It’s unfair to the child. I can see having a kid in your 40’s or even early 50’s but this guy is going to be in his 80’s when the kid graduates high school. He’ll be lucky to see him get married. It’s not very fair to the infant involved. Yes, we can all die at any time…but, this is like forcing your child to accept that you are going to die when they are young which is essentially robbing them of a parent and making them go through death and loss early in their life.

She is a gorgeous so,an and seems like the motherly type. Although it’s his third marriage and he is a bit past the age go be starting a new family, I think this is great. I hope he follows in his famous Dad,s footsteps.
