Ben Affleck Dressed Up as Batman for Samuel’s Birthday Party – But Lending the Costume Took Some Convincing
Ben Affleck gave his son the gift of a lifetime.
During a Sunday appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the actor told host Jimmy Kimmel about dressing up as Batman (Affleck portrays the character in the upcoming Batman v Superman film) at his son Samuel‘s 4th birthday party over the weekend.
“He wanted a superhero birthday party and so he wanted superheroes there,” Affleck said, adding that he asked his son which superheroes he wanted at the bash. “He was like, ‘and I want you to do Batman. Real Batman!'”

The Batman v Superman star said it took some convincing to get the movie studio to lend him the costume — “They trust me for the movie, but not for a 4-year-old’s birthday,” Affleck, 43, joked.
Once he had the costume, Affleck had to face the reality of portraying Batman — in costume — in front of a slew of children and their parents.
“There was Wonder Woman, Captain America, Iron Man and there was me … it was so mortifying,” he said with a laugh. “First I thought, ‘It’s kids. It’s kids.’ I didn’t think that, of course, like, all their parents are there.
“So I had to, like, put on my outfit for this movie, and put on my scary face for the 4-year-olds and all their folks are there. It’s 11 in the morning and they’re kind of like ‘Wow. Batman.'”
Affleck put on a brave face, though, and gave Kimmel a glimpse of his portrayal of the superhero.
“This means a lot to my son,” Affleck said in the character’s raspy voice. “Don’t make me come find you.”
Affleck has three children with Jennifer Garner: Samuel, Violet, 10, and 7-year-old Seraphina.
