Kandi Burruss Welcomes Son Ace Wells

Kandi Burruss is a mom for the second time!
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star welcomed a son with husband Todd Tucker on Wednesday, Jan. 6, a rep for the couple confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.
Son Ace Wells Tucker arrived at 8:42 a.m., weighing in at 7 lbs., 6 oz.
“Todd and I have been waiting so long for his delivery and he is so very perfect,” Burruss, 39, tells PEOPLE.
“We named our beautiful baby boy Ace because I wanted something unique. When he becomes school age, hopefully he won’t have to worry about another person in the class having his name,” she explains to E! News.

“More than that, Ace represents the number 1 and that of the high quality and our baby Ace is definitely that! His middle name Wells was Todd’s mother’s last name. Using her last name as his middle name was our way of honoring her memory.”
This is the couple’s first child together. Burruss — who chronicled her struggle to get pregnant with her second child on her Bravo reality series — is also mom to 13-year-old daughter Riley, while Tucker is dad to 19-year-old daughter Kaela.
“We’ve been looking forward to this moment,” Burruss said in July after revealing she was expecting. “I’m ecstatic.”

While it wasn’t easy for Burruss to conceive, her pregnancy was fairly smooth. “No craving or morning sickness thank goodness,” she said. “I’m just tired all of the time.”
And now the proud parents (who were both hoping for a baby boy) couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome their son to the family.
