Kris Allen Expecting Second Child

Kris Allen is starting off the new year on a high note.

The season 8 American Idol winner and his wife Katy are expecting their second child, he announced Saturday on Instagram.

Allen, 30, let their 2-year-old son Oliver Neil do the honors: The soon-to-be dad of two posted a sweet picture of his first child sporting a big brother tee while playing in a box.

“#2016 is gonna be a good year!” the singer captioned the photo.

The mom-to-be shared the same snapshot on her Instagram, writing, “Happy New Year everyone! So much for our family to look forward to in 2016!!!”

A new baby isn’t Allen’s only upcoming project: He kicks off his Letting You In tour in Birmingham, Alabama, in March.

Allen wed Katy, his high school sweetheart, in September 2008.

Congratulations to him and his family. He seems like a nice guy, but he never should have won Idol that year. To compare his singing abilities to that of Adam Lambert, and have him win is just ridiculous. Adam was note perfec throughout the competition, and artists like Slash and Queen contacted Idol to ask to be involved BECAUSE they wanted to work with him. Kris Allen won that year because he was cute, married and a former missionary. It was a vote for his lifestyle rather than his voice. God forbid they give the award to the big, edgy, obviously gay guy from California! Oh well, no harm done in the end. Adam now kills it with Queen all over the world and sells out concert venues worldwide.

Wow. If I didn’t know better I would think this well- controlled bitterness and resentment was expressed by Adam lambert himself.

Kris Allen is very talented and a fantastic singer and songwriter. Can’t wait for his new music to be released and the “letting you in” tour to start in 2016. Congrats to you Kris and Katy, 2016 will definitely be a good year.

It’s better that Adam didn’t win. He didn’t exactly avoid the era where album sales mean nothing now since his sophomore album flopped but he avoided becoming a puppet of the powers that be of Idol who control the music he releases. He never needed the title of American Idol.

He was very good on American Idol season 8, it’s hard to say who should win him or Adam, but in the end the votes decided the winner. Congrats to him.

Dear “Whatever”…hardly. Just a fan of Adam’s who has had the pleasure of seeing him perform live with Queen. I was blown away by both his talent and his professionalism. Anyone who doesn’t acknowledge his superior talent should consider having their hearing checked. He is by far the best contestant I’ve ever heard on any of the singing competitions. His performances are always note perfect.

Congratulations to Kris and the family on the new addition.

Adam was not note perfect on Idol. His screeching got on my nerves and hurt my ears. His Tresspassing album held no. 1 for one week and then nosedived. If Trespassing was a success, he wouldn’t have had to settle for singing with Queen (other people’s music), because he still would have been on his OWN Tresspassing tour (singing his own music) for over a year all over the world. He only had a mini Asian tour for Tresspassing and didn’t go back to all of the European and US venues he hit with his Glamnation tour. Why wasn’ t there a huge Tresspassing tour, even bigger than Glamnation?

I just went to a concert that he was at i(He’s not headlining at all of his original high venues)

(Continued): I just went to a concert in the South that Adam was playing at (He was not the main act; He’s not headlining at all of his original high venues). 75% of the people walked out after the first half of the concert; they didn’t wait to see Adam. He has Not been recently selling out concert venues with his original high tour (his Own music).

Kelly: Shouldn’t Adam be selling out venues not only with Glamnation, but also, with an international Tresspassing tour and an international original high tour?’
I am not impressed that he is selling out venues with Queen (singing Covers of Other People’s music that has been popular for decades).
Why doesn’t he have a sold out original high tour and he can’t do Queen this year, because he is still touring and doing his own music for the next year? I bet he thought h

I bet he thought he would be touring with his own album for 18 months straight, like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Rhianna.

Just want to congratulate Kris Allen and his beautiful wife. They have stayed true to who they are during Idol and beyond. To those of you that use this comment to discuss anything other than the beautiful thing that is a new baby- you’re pathetic. That was so 6 years ago! Get over it! Kris, I wish you and your family the best! I look forward to your new album.

Kris is my favorite Idol, after Kelly. I also didn’t like Adam’s screeching on some songs, but I did think he was talented. But Kris impressed me with not only his voice, but also with his demeanor and interpretation of the songs. I have seen him in concert and met him (and got a hug, pictures with him, and an autograph!) and was so impressed with how down-to-earth he is. His concert was impressive (the guy can REALLY sing) because he was comfortable with the audience and very funny to boot! I have all of his music and can’t wait for the next album. I think he has the career he wants – intimate venues with his adoring fans (and he DOES have adoring fans, of which I am one). He has a great family with a beautiful wife, an adorable son, and another addition on the way. Folks, America got it right with Kris!
