Six week after welcoming her second child, Jessie James Decker looked like she had completely bounced back and shed the pregnancy pounds.

After her followers were quick to take notice of her svelte shape in an Instagram photo showing the new mom of two all dressed up for date night, the country star returned to social media to clear up any misconceptions.

“I appreciate all of the sweet comments about how tiny I look after baby! But I don’t want to mislead any momm[ies] who just had babies and are stressing,” James Decker, 27, writes alongside a picture of her tummy.

Despite gaining 55 lbs. during her pregnancy with daughter Vivianne Rose, 18 months, the “Lights Down Low” singer admits she kept her eating and exercise in check for a total weight gain of 27 lbs. the second time around.

“This time I ate very normal,” she explains. “I am still 15 lbs. away from what I was originally before I got pregnant with Vivianne. I take occasional walks but haven’t done anything yet to try and lose weight and am in no rush!”

James Decker adds, “Nursing mamas should def not try and do any severe diets or milk supply will run low! My tummy is still swollen and you can see my c-section scar and pooch! I had another due to my 9 lb. baby and petite frame. So no rushing and no stressing about losing weight!”

The new mom of son Eric Thomas II received plenty of praise from her fans following the first glam selfie, but she’s determined to balance it out with a behind-the-scenes explanation.

“Wanted to make sure y’all saw what my tummy looks like under the tank top and blazer,” she says. “I am so glad we all can support each other. Being a mommy is so rewarding but hard work so we need to stick together and help each other out.”

She adds, “I’m not perfect but I do my best. That’s what it’s all about. So never be hard on yourself.”

My big boy! Sweatpants and milk stained t shirts are pretty much what my outfits consist of these days lol

Mommy of 5 on

Good for her, and thank you for showing that you are human. I don’t even know who you are or what you do, but it is so nice of you to show women that you don’t have to be back to your old size right after giving birth. And its ok to never get back to it actually!

Dawn on

Bless her! Thanks for putting it out there! Though I wish MY pooch looked like that and I’m 11 YEARS post partem haha! She’s a beautiful woman who takes great care of herself so no hating!

Cat on

I agree with you Mommy of 5 – I do know who Jessie is and I’m so glad to see a celeb Mom who doesn’t have to be perfect. She can put her baby body out there and just say that’s me. Take it or leave it I”m NOT perfect and I shouldn’t be expected to be. And neither should any other Mom. She is saying not to put her on a pedestal and I LOVE that!!!!

Eh on

No stretch marks and only a tiny pooch 6 weeks after her baby, man, she has good genes! Can’t hate on her for that, some women are just blessed.

Anonymous on

Thank you very much for not pretending to be or look perfect! This is refreshing and much more normal as well as realistic. Beautiful woman with all the layers of makeup too!

Sara on

Good for her for keeping it real

Ceecee on

I think she really does think she is perfect. Give me a break!!! There is no pooch there but a sultry pout while she poses…check. Oh and 15 lbs more to lose??? Get real girl.

Anonymous on

Really? A pooch. I’m so sorry that she’s not back to her size 0! Boo hoo.

Chi on

Thank you Jessie!

Ariel on

I love her honesty, but it doesn’t sound like her doctors were honest with her. “Petite” frames can deliver 9lb babies vaginally– women do it every day!

MW on

I love how she shows pictures of her body and says just like everyone else but in the other photo makes a point of saying her leather pants are “petite” size. Hypocritical if you ask me.

Heather on

Gosh she is really beautiful — with and without makeup!! I appreciate her being real – thankfully clothes can cover up our mommy pooches 😉

Kim on

@mw In pants, especially leather ones, petite refers to the length.

LIN on

She has a beautiful family.

Staci on

I’m 5’3 I’ve delivered 8 of my 10 children vaginally. A posterior baby, a 12 pound 14 ounce 24 inch baby…never underestimate the power within our own miraculous bodies.

Mom of an Only on

Kudos to her! I’d much rather see these momma stars posting selfies like this post pregnancy, rather than posting a “fit/lost all that baby weight” selfie 6+ weeks later.

gymluv on

Every woman is different. I gained 27 pounds, had a 9 pound baby and a C/S. I was back in my clothes by 6 weeks postpartum with no effort to lose the weight. I worked out pre-pregnancy, and breastfed after, but that was it. I know it was just genetics or luck because some women have to work harder to lose it. The fact is that we are so lucky to be able to carry a baby. My jiggly tummy and scar were my mommy trophies. I was proud to have them. It is not a competition.

anna...just anna on

What!? She’s pretty shallow if she’s concerned about a tiny….very tiny bit of skin!!! Who is this chick anyway??? Hope motherhood helps her grow up a TON!

anna...just anna on

And why on earth would she even have to mention so bluntly that her pants are “petite”????!!! Oh please. What a waste of time this article/person is. Feel sorry for that kid.

Kathy on

Some of you are just sad. She is out there saying don’t stress how you look post pregnancy, it’s ok. So what if she is thin to begin with, she didn’t need to do this. You just have to find ugly in everything but that is a reflection of your ugliness. Good for her for doing this, it was refreshing for someone to do this and be supportive of other new Moms.

Lana on

Feel bad for her kid, but husband especially. Shallow, insecure, and irrelevant attention-seeking z lister. There is something terribly wrong with her. Hope her husband realizes he didn’t have to settle for trash and divorce her!!!!

Rach on

That is so great that she did this! Thank you so much for showing us something very real!

Maxine on

Jessie is keeping real and she is beautiful.

Gigi on

She’s still beautiful.

Vol on

Yay she looks great in that tiny pants.

Emily on

I agree with some of the commenters here- “petite frames” can deliver 10+ lb. babies all day long. Yet I hear this soooooo often. I feel like the doctors say that to flatter the mother (“you’re too tiny!” Women eat that up, come on) and to ensure a cesarean birth for their convience and let’s not forget about the $! Sad.

Me on

I don’t see how people manage to gain that much weight during pregnancy! I’m almost 7 months along with my first and while I have never had morning sickness, I have also had very little appetite my entire pregnancy so far. I usually have to force myself to eat.

Julie on

I love her and her family!

Carol Decker on

Very nice message and cute pictures. Seems lovely!

Ashleigh on

I don’t believe any of these post are real. Go to us magazine and every comment is real people. Prob Jessie wanna be herself posting these.

Good for her for being real like this! And as far as the C-section goes, every woman is different. It’s possible that she has a very narrow pelvis in addition to being short, hence not being able to vaginally deliver a baby that other short women could have. I DO think doctors are too quick to push C-sections these days (our country’s out-of-control C-section rate is proof of that!), but we don’t know that was the case in her situation.

lisa on

Just an FYI-you can wear petite sizes and not be skinny. Petite refers to the length..and comes in all sizes.

Missy on

Are people actually hating on the fact shes posting pics and stating shes in no rush to get back to her pre-pregnancy body? BTW Petite is because shes short…has nothing to do with her waste size. You women on here are pathetic….if she was on here with her super flat tummy you would be hating on her because she had the nerve to not be real.

JessnSeattle on

Not that any of you who already commented are going to see this but whatever. She mentioned the pants size and such because they are from HER line, Kittenish. And she had an emergency C-section with her first child after going thru a very tough labor that didn’t work out. She wanted to have a natural childbirth. She went into the 2nd one taking precautions. A lot of women do after having a C-section. Don’t bash women. The most important thing is to get a healthy baby out right? We all have our own path. She is tiny, yeah? She also works her ass off to stay in shape and is naturally petite and thin (with curves) She is an amazing artist and down to earth human being. Her and her football player hubs seem like real people.

Kimhen on

look she gained a healthy amount of weight. Is showing you Dr.’s don’t make thinks magically go away. What more do you waan’t. My son was next to my treadmill at 6 weeks old and did up to 10 mile mails at night combined with a high protein , water water water and yes 100 prams of carbs a day. I lost 72 lbs in 3 months and I am a normal working mom. Everyone is different but the focus should be on the beautiful prize you just had . Not your flat tire. We are only human and not photoshopped all day long. Good for you Jessie James. As far as a 9 lb baby yes she probably counld of delivered a child with twin broken collarbones and internal bamage to heself. Remember everyone’s body is differenrt and it is good to play safe on something that important.

sally on

good for her! way to show the truth & being down to earth!

guest on

Although I believe her intentions were good, she hardly looks like she just had a baby a month ago. This is not reality for most people. Her heart was in the right place but I don’t think she thought it through. I don’t think this will give comfort to most women who are struggling with losing the baby weight.

allisonhazen on

For all the women saying she could have delivered her 9-pound baby vaginally, keep in mind that there were likely other, unavoidable circumstances that prompted the c-section. I went to a midwife just to avoid the possibility of one, my baby’s vitals started tanking during childbirth, and there were were — c-section or he dies. Sometimes — most times — you have no choice. That being said, she looks gorgeous and I appreciate her making me feel a little better about my new pooch above the scar I tried my best to avoid.

Robyn on

I dont know what it is about her but I find her and her husband so annoying.

Paula on

She looks amazing. Happy for her.

arabrabbra on

Wheres the stretch marks! That’s her only pooch! Jeez louise I wish I could say the same! Shes gorgeous good for her

Amanda on

There are some angry women on here! A few things – generally speaking “petite” means short in length. Also, so she didn’t gorge herself while pregnant and still has 15 to lose, yet some of your nasty women are shaming her for that. It’s you, the ones criticizing her that needs to grow up! She’s trying to show that she’s not flawless like some may think – give her credit for that.

Lastly, the girls look fabulous! I’m sure her husband is loving that!

Geepers on

This comment thread just showcases how women can’t win. No matter what she says, she gets attacked. If she doesn’t say anything and just posts the hot date night picture, she gets attacked for setting unfair expectations. When she posts the follow-up pick with her tummy, the complaint is that her pooch isn’t big enough. Every woman’s body is different and we should be celebrating that, not judging each other.

Aria on

I am not skinny. However I used to be. I don’t feel it is fair to say “she doesn’t have a pooch”… It is there. It is small and she is not used to seeing it. I remember being 135 lbs and thinking I was “fat” because I was used to seeing my body at 120 lbs. The size she is now isn’t the norm for her. So to her she isn’t perfect and in the industry she is in right now her body isn’t perfect. She is out there saying to not try and put celebrities on a pedestal. Not all of them have perfect bodies and that as a mom, you don’t have to be in a hurry to lost the pooch after having a baby. I love Jessie… She seems so down to Earth. Also, stop saying she is always trying to be sexy people. I don’t think she intends to in her pictures. The woman is naturally gorgeous.

Maggies on

Most celebs have herpes or some other kind of disease which prevents them from having vaginal births. So its perfectly acceptable to lie about the reason for having a csection instead of putting their status out there.

Courtney on

You look amazing! My belly looked just like yours at 6 weeks postpartum except I was about 100 lbs heavier – Ha! Same shape just a lot more of it.

To the mom of 10 – OMG – A posterior (so not fun) and almost 13 lbs – I pray that doesn’t happen to anyone else – must have been a torture chamber!

And last note – whoever said most celebs have herpes – so extreme!

Courtney on

And 9lbs – whew girl! You are a strong mama!

Jan on

Wow! I love your attitude and more women should be taking note of the wonderful message you are sending. I am 62 years old. I am in much better shape than most women my age, but my skin is starting to sag and for the first time in my life….yes, …..even after pregnancy, I am looking at a body that is not the one I started out with….despite two hours of hiking a day, an hour of cycling every day, and a half a mile of swimming every day. I LOVE these activities and do them because they make me feel so good….cycling beside the ocean, hiking in the jungle of fCosta Rica, swimming because I love to swim. But, oh……all the magazines show perfection in women…..and it affects us all….no matter what age. I am a Femiiist from way back…when the Movement started,,,,,and I see occasionally, women who support that by showing who they are ACTUALLY rather than what they alllow men to define them as. I am so disappointed that women are still allowing men to define who they are and what is acceptable about women!!!! Women…..start defining that yourselves! You know it will be entirely different and FAR more RELAXED than having to wear stilleto high heels and barely any clothes to be accepted in both society and the man’s world. We are far more than that….we are beauty….yes….but we are also intelligence, sensitivity, maternalistic instincts that are absolutely marvellous and magical, connection with others, empathy and on and on. PLEASE let us stop being defined by what we think men want! I remember Janis Joplin. Look her up on Youtube. She was an amazing talent and singer…..unfortunately emotionally disturbed …..but she sang and had talent without having to wear nothing at all or high heels. She wore bell-bottom pants and did not care about her appearance….because it was only her talent that mattered. Now, people try to dress it up. You either have talent or you don’t, and if you leave men out of the mix……clothes, high heels, hair, makeup…..NONE OF IT MATTERS!!!! PLEASE LET US BE OURSELVES……LET US BE WHO WE ARE…….LET WOMEN DEFINE WHO WOMEN SHOULD BE….AND LET US BE EASY ON OURSELVES!!!!! I love you, Sisters! Jan
