Three cheers for Naya Rivera!

The former Glee star has welcomed her first child with her husband, actor Ryan Dorsey, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

Son Josey Hollis Dorsey arrived at 8:31 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17 in Los Angeles, PEOPLE confirms via his birth certificate.

“Thank you for all the well wishes and sweet messages!” Rivera tweeted Thursday.

In February, Rivera, 28, and the former Justified star, 32, let fans in on a secret: She was pregnant!

“Ryan and I feel so blessed and can’t wait to welcome the newest member of our family,” the actress, who originally posted a photo of a bun in the oven on Instagram, later wrote on her website.

After proudly debuting her baby belly while supporting Dorsey at an event, Rivera gave her followers a better look at her bump — in a bikini! “Baby moon,” she captioned the beach snapshot.

“I will never forget the moment Ryan felt the baby kick for the first time. It truly was one of those precious memories I will have forever,” Rivera wrote in her PEOPLE.com blog.

And in August, the mom-to-be was showered with love during a Love You Forever-themed celebration before rejoicing in the arrival of her third trimester.

“When I reached the final leg of my pregnancy, I was ecstatic. I could see the finish line and it felt so good,” Rivera, who designed a neutral nursery for her new addition, wrote in her final blog before welcoming her baby.

“Sure, my back was on fire and I was tipping the scales at numbers I didn’t think I could ever reach, but who cares?! WE’RE ALMOST DONE!”

Josey?
Poor kid.

I don’t dislike Josey, but Josey Dorsey? A little too rhyme-time to like. Hollis would have made the better first name.

Cyndi on

Josey Dorsey. Gawd these people are so stupid.

Texas Gal on

I’m wondering if the name is pronounced Jo-Say or is it truly pronounced to rhyme with Rosie? Either way….. EHHH! Wouldn’t have been my choice especially since this last name is Dorsey.

The great thing about this is – it’s not your kid’s name. If you don’t like it, don’t use it. It’s rather rude to critique someone else’s name choice for their child. It’s not like they named him Shoestring or Bookcase.

It’s actually not rude to criticize a name choice, sorry. They didn’t choose to name themselves Josey Dorsey. They named someone else that. Who will one day be in 5th grade wondering WTF his parents were thinking. It’s not too late to change it. That one is bad. Think ahead people! Not a baby forever.

Also, my sister had a baby boy and named him Penlee. Yep double e for a boy. I wanted to punch her in the face. My phone tries to autocorrect the spelling of Penlee, as it’s not an actual name. I told her, you will regret this. And if you don’t, he will. He’ll be correcting people and spelling it properly for people his whole life. This is the height of rudeness.

JoSEY DorSEY?! I know Naya’s family is big with naming with a “Y” so I wonder if the name is actually pronounced as “Jose” and just spelled with a “Y”.

@DDW – I agree, kinda has a “Julia Gulia” vibe.

I barely recognized her because she removed that big mole she had on her chin and she had darker skin. I was a fan pre mole removal. Congrats to them on their son
