Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys just received the greatest gift: a baby!

The music producer and “Girl on Fire” singer welcomed their second child together on Saturday, Dec. 27, the couple announced Sunday via Instagram.

Son Genesis Ali Dean was born at 1:52 a.m., weighing 6 lbs., 5 oz.

“The joy of joy is joy!! It’s a boy,” Keys, 33, and Beatz, 36, wrote simultaneously. “We are so grateful!! #blessings!!”

His holiday arrival is also the perfect present for the couple’s 4-year-old son Egypt Daoud, who was looking forward to being a big brother.

“I think he’s super excited because he’s not going to be the youngest anymore,” Keys told PEOPLE in October. “He’s always kissing my belly.”

The mom-to-be and fashion designer Beatz — who is also dad to daughter Nicole and sons Prince Nasir and Kasseem from previous relationships — announced in July that they were adding another baby to their brood.

“Happy anniversary to the love of my life,” Keys wrote on Instagram. “And to make it even sweeter we’ve been blessed with another angel on the way!! You make me happier than I have ever known! Here’s to many many more years of the best parts of life!”

OMG my daughters and I were just discussing what a GREAT writer Alicia is. We were listening to “I’m Ready” and we agree that aong should have been in Twilight movie when she turned into a vampire!!! Congrats parents!! Now my girl Whitney video is on. Got her LIVE DVD/CD for my b day (12-24). Oprah do the d@ THEATER movie! hahahaha

Britt on

Nassir, Kassem, Daoud and Ali? Is Swiss Beats muslim? Those are all popular Muslim names. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, just an observation

Lilah on

Awesome! Congratulations!

Moby on

Britt, I was wondering the same thing and he is indeed a Muslim !

Sammy on

@Britt and @Moby I believe his father is Arab but he’s not a devout Muslim. Alicia’s Christian and they still celebrate christian holidays. I know a lot of people in the Black / AA community who are devout Christians but give their kids arabic names.

Britt on

@Sammy, why do you need to explain and give a reasoning and that he’s not a devout or that they celebrate christmas? So what? It’s alright if he is a Muslim, everybody can have their own religion in this country. I was only making an observation

Britt on

@Sammy, you seem to be incredibly confused on the difference between the terms “arab” and muslim”. Arab is a race, muslim is a religion. There are Christian, Jewish and Muslim Arabs. You can find a Christian Iraqi and a Muslim Iraqi, a Jewish Moroccan and a Muslim Moroccan, a christian Lebanese and a Muslim Lebanese. Arab is an ethnicity not a faith. I hope this helped.

Callie on

Let’s hope this relationship works out seeing as how he has three other children from previous relationships! Sounds like a stable kind of guy. That makes 5 buddy, maybe that’s enough. You don’t want to be a total stereotype, do you?

susan on

It doesn’t matter what they name him. He’ll grow up and change it to G Master or Beatz Jr.

dd on

congrats

josie on

She seems inarticulate: “You make me happier than I’ve ever known?” And the joy of joy is joy? The lame of lame is lame…

is Dean his surname?

Michelle on

He reminds me of one the Marx Brothers banana nosed cornball! But congrats, he caught I mean he married a w$nner

Petr on

@Sammy says. Your comment about the “AA”community naming system is false and Swissbeats is and always has been Muslim. No explanation for that needed. Check your facts. The names of his children are uncommon in.the “AA”community. Take it from one who knows.

essa on

I adore the name!!

Ginger on

Five kids with 4 different mothers. I hope this relationship sticks.

@Josie, How dare you insult Alicia like that. She is one of the most well spoken and articulate celebrities. You don’t graduate as Valedictorian of your class and be accused of being inarticulate. Have you ever seen her give an interview or a speech? She doesn’t have to be perfect ALL the time. Lame is insulting someone as beautiful, kind, and talented as Alicia Keys

Anonymous on

No Josie, his surname is Beatz πŸ™ˆ

Ever heard of google? That’s a dumb comment.

AR on

Good to see they’re keeping the names light and not so serious! Best of health and happiness to them.

Saeeda on

Maybe I’m sensing some hostility toward @Sammy that isn’t really there, but I just want to share my personal experience because I agree with @Sammy’s statement. I am black, I have a Muslim name, and I am not Muslim. And I love my name. I think it is classy and unique. Furthermore, there are a ton of people in the black community, who are not Muslim, with Muslim sounding names. They’re just names. Just like Jessica or Rebecca or John. Having the name Egypt Daoud doesn’t make you any more Muslim than having the name Mary makes you Catholic. Regardless, I am very happy for Keys and Swiss Beatz and I think their children’s’ names are beautiful.

I really love the name! I don’t think I would normally like it, but it seems perfect for this couple, and it goes great with Egypt. I just love babies (:

This is such happy news! Alicia looks stunning that photo.

Other Anonymous- Did you get coal in your stocking or something? Josie was just asking a simple question. And Dean isn’t strictly a surname, so someone who doesn’t follow Swizz Beatz (and therefore doesn’t know his real name) isn’t necessarily going to know right away whether that’s the baby’s surname or just a second middle name!

Josie- Yes it is. His real name is Kaseem Dean (meaning that his one son is actually Kaseem Jr., don’t know why PEOPLE doesn’t have it listed as such).

Anyway, congrats to them!

mic on

how about genesis ali revelations-bet gene will be his main name, anyway always congratulations!

Britt on

@Saeeda, your name is not a Muslim name, “Saeeda” means happy in Arabic. Anyone can use the name “Saeeda” whether Christian, Jewish or Muslim, it’s just the translation of the word happy in another language, I hope you don’t confuse a language with a religion.

And yes, it’s a pretty name, I hope you learned something about your name

libba on

Stupid names

Gen on

@ Britt, relax for god sake, Sammy was just explaining something…why do you feel so insecure? You did not write anything wrong and he did not write anything wrong either, why do you have to get on your horse? Take a chill pill honey.

Max on

Reading the comments, one needs to take a moment and thank Dubya for his hand in the dumbing of America with his Axis of Evil tour of fear-mongering.

And yes, some of you had it right: Arabic is an ethnicity. Not a religion. Not a country. Not a sect. Arabic sounding names are not automatically Muslim.

And Genesis is much better than Egypt. I mean, the pressure to live up to the name Egypt… At least, it’s not Apple.

beth789 on

Congratulations! They a very loving couple.

Saeeda on

@Britt. I know my name means happy in Arabic… but most times, when I tell someone my name, they assume I am Muslim. That’s my point. No need to try to enlighten me about my own name. Thanks though.

annie on

@Britt

The reason her name, Saeeda, gets classified as a muslim name is because there are religious muslim figures with that name. I hope that enlightened you enough to shut you up and to quit nagging everyone here.

NV on

Love the name. Congrats to them!

Jennifer Rootham on

I had to do a double take, when I saw the announcement πŸ™‚ None the less, I’m so happy for this couple. She has always been one of my favorite musicians!!
