Christmas came early for Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell!

The Parenthood and House of Lies stars welcomed their second daughter on Friday, Dec. 19, they announced via Twitter.

Delta Bell Shepard is here. She doesn’t look like either Kristen or me, but we’re gonna keep her anyway,” Shepard, 39, wrote jokingly.

“The estrogen has now hit critical mass! Good luck, Dax. And welcome to the world DELTA BELL SHEPARD,” Bell, 34, added.

Despite the new addition, not much will change for big sister Lincoln, 21 months. “We were told to pick up the oldest first if both are crying,” the actor told PEOPLE in November.

Shortly after her June announcement that she was expecting, Bell — who showed off her baby belly in a series of stunning ensembles throughout her pregnancy — admitted the couple were stuck on a name for their second child.

“[We’re] completely stumped,” the mom-to-be said in July.

But only two months later, the parents-to-be had a baby name breakthrough. “We’ve settled on one, thankfully,” Bell, who chose to keep their baby’s sex a secret, told PEOPLE in September. “It’s a lot of pressure, especially because we felt Lincoln was so perfect.”

In the days leading up to Delta’s arrival, Shepard shared a video of his wife — whom he wed in 2013 — trying her best to jump start labor.

“Certain members of the family are READY for other members of the family to kindly exit their body,” he captioned a video of Bell bouncing on a ball.

Congrats to Dax, Kristen and Lincoln! I love them together, they seem to have so much fun together and the love they show for each other is so warm and precious. They seem to have the kind of relationship I dream of having. And I love the name Delta!

I love this couple…they are adorable together and seem so normal in the often very weird world of entertainment. Congratulations on the birth of a little girl and BTW, the name is just perfect. Every big sister needs a little sister.

valeskas on

Happy for them, one of the nicest couples in Hollywood. Hello to the world Delta Bell.

So happy to see the words baby belly instead of baby bump. Congrats to the mom, dad and big sis.

As I am not American, I don’t know what to think about the new baby’s name. It sounds (not bad, just a little) weird to my ears, but again, English is not my first language. I liked Lincoln better. But to each is own.

Congrats to Kristen, Dax and big sis Lincoln. May your life be filled with even more joy !

Why are some of you surprised that it’s a girl? It was announced some time ago that it was another girl! Anyway, congrats to the happy family…and I love the name Delta!! πŸ‘ β€πŸ‘

^ No, it wasn’t – they said that they knew the sex but were keeping it private like they did with Lincoln.

Love Kristin in Forgetting Sarah Marshall but especially love Dax on Parenthood and am so sad there are only four episodes left of the show!!

Really naming one daughter Lincoln and the newest addition Delta?

Then again with the name Dax why would anyone name their child with a normal name?Sickos

Anonymous on

Welcome, Delta Bell! I really do love those two, they make me smile.

Ashlynn on

Congratulations 😘

But random person to scared to use their name, why call them sickos over a name? You seem like the kind of person who would have no friends!

Dayle on

Congratulations! So happy for them! They are such an adorable couple!!!!!

Anna on

Congrats, but not liking the name.

Angelica on

Congratulations to them! Cute name.

Delta Dawn what’s that flower you have on / could it be a faded rose from years gone by. This song was the first thing I thought of after reading the name. So cute.

Marky on

Don’t know them personally, like many of the rest of you posters, but they seem like a loving, fun couple who really enjoy each other’s company. Not sure why anyone thinks celebs have to keep their children secret in order to “protect their privacy”, either. No one has to hide their children as if they are hideous or some sort of secret. They don’t have to show us a new picture every day, either. An occasional picture taken by the parents, and shown to their fans, isn’t some horrible thing to do to the child, nor is it terrible exploitation. Balance and moderation isn’t a bad thing for anyone….

Love this couple’s Christmas ads so much, and congratulations on their new baby girl. Cute name, as well!

Happy for Dax and Kristen. Congrats!

Delta Dawn, what’s that flower you have on?

Seriously…all the best and many blessings to the family

My father had a 1941 Lincoln that he would drive to church occasionally & whenever it broke down, he would make my mother get out & push the car home while he steered. Then he purchased a two-door Delta 88 in the mid-80s, making it easier for my sisters to skip school & narrowly avoid the truant officers while they drove The Boat home.

Congratulations, Delta Bell! May your Lincoln Zephyr adore you as much as your parents do!

brooke on

Cute name ! Delta is also the name of an awesome Australian singer !

lyoness on

Very Southern Belle… Love it! Congratulations! (I like that commercial too.)

MollyF on

I don’t they’re going back on their non celebrity child photo in public stance. I think they don’t want others to take photos of kids, except in red carpet settings and if the celebrities post pictures of their kids. That way they can control the distribution.

charlotte on

Congratulations! I love the name too. They are one of the cutest couples and families in Hollywood, IMHO πŸ™‚

Shawna on

I disagree with the advice to always pick the older one up first. That I not fair to the new baby and while they may not notice as an infant they will sure notice as a child if their older sibling is always the one that gets attention first. You should split your attention between both children, the youngest shouldn’t always get the short end of the stick.
