Kristen Bell Wows on the Red Carpet – After a Small Shoe Snafu

Kristen Bell has pregnancy problems!

Although the mom-to-be looked stunning in a fitted Dsquared2 black halter dress while at the premiere of her husband Dax Shepard‘s new movie, The Judge, it took a last-minute joint effort to pull it all off.

While on their way to the red carpet in Los Angeles on Wednesday, the actress, 34, experienced a bit of a shoe snafu when her burgeoning belly made it difficult to finish dressing.

Luckily for Bell, Shepard, 39, was happy to step in as her stylist.

“The bad news: [you] can no longer reach your feet,” she Tweeted, along with a photo of the actor coming to her rescue. “The good news: [you] have a nice hubby who’ll help put on your shoes.”

The couple are expecting their second child, which may mean a trip back to the parlor for Shepard, whose latest tattoo is a bell featuring their 18-month-old daughter Lincoln‘s initials along with their own.

But Shepard isn’t sweating time in the chair.

“Actually, this was so pain free that it was actually relaxing to the point where I said to my guy, ‘Do people regularly fall asleep when you do this?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, pretty often.’ I felt myself drifting off,” Shepard told PEOPLE of his new ink job.

The proud parents are staying mum on the initials of their new addition, but after initially struggling with baby names, Bell recently told PEOPLE they had a “bit of a breakthrough.”

“We’ve settled on one, thankfully,” she said. “It’s a lot of pressure, especially because we felt ‘Lincoln’ was so perfect.”

She doesn’t look so big that she couldn’t reach her feet. Maybe because she’s so short? I could still reach my feet at 9 months but I’m over 6′. Maybe that’s the difference? She looks so nice! Perfect little belly and happy glow!

I’ve always LOVED this couple…they remind me of me and my man:) laughing through life together is so fun…love the name they picked for their first baby girl, so I can’t wait to see this name. Maybe Nixon or something presidential to keep it going?

That’s sweet. I stopped being able to get on nice shoes at about 7 mos. Flip flops or uggs. Nothing else.

My mom was 5’4″, and she wasn’t able to do much after month 5/6 without someone’s assistance. I helped her a lot with putting on socks and shoes when she was pregnant with my two youngest sisters.

@ally YES! Height makes a huge difference when it comes to belly size! Your uterus grows up from your pelvis, so short/short torso (I’m both) people are completely screwed when it reaches the ribcage…there’s only one way to go, and that’s out. I am 5’4″ and I couldn’t put my shoes on myself once I hit 7.5-8 months. Also, my liver hurt almost constantly from 7 months onward since it was so squished.
