Prince George Kate Middleton Prince William Royal Tour New Zealand AustraliaJAMES WHATLING/SPLASH NEWS ONLINE

Prince George may not yet be walking, but that doesn’t mean he can’t don adorable shoes on his first ever royal tour.

While disembarking the plane in New Zealand Sunday in the arms of his mum, the Duchess of Cambridge, the 8-month-old showed off his cute cream outfit (a sweater with soldier motifs worn over a Peter Pan collar onesie and shorts) accessorized perfectly with a pair of Early Days Alex Pre-Walker shoes in ivory leather.

“We are really thrilled,” Paul Bolton, managing director of the heritage children’s footwear brand, tells PEOPLE, adding: “You couldn’t have a better pair of feet for them to be on!”

Founded in 1952, the Leicester-based company is the only traditional children’s shoe manufacturer left in the UK.

“That’s what we are really pleased about because we have fought to stay in the U.K. and so for our staff to see the shoes on the feet of the future King of England — it means a lot to them.”

Featuring a T-bar strap with a single button fastening, the soft leather shoes ($45) have a flexible but firm sole — perfect for an already crawling George.

“They are essentially a pram shoe made in a nice wide fitting so they are designed with comfort in mind. They are very traditional in design so they are ideal for his style.”

I can’t believe I just read an article about a baby’s shoes.

Oh for the love of… seriously?

Given that the company who made the shoes is the only traditional one left in the UK, hopefully the publicity they receive from this will be enough to keep them going. They’re darling shoes.

YES ROBIN!! Why bother if you don’t care? Go somewhere else because WE care!!

I am sorry but wtf is it suppose to mean that there couldn’t be a better pait of feet to be on? Ok I understand that he is a prince and a future king but he is a kid. Just like my kid, your kid or any other. Why would someone say that his feet are better than other’s kids. At the end we are all equal.

They are sooo cute! Like the shoes our parents used to wear. I love that there are still places that made traditional, quality footwear for babies.

Adorable and the people at the Early Days company must be ecstatic – just like anything Kate wears flies off the racks, young Prince George is sure to have the same impact on children’s apparel and I’m sure the British companies manufacturing these items are thrilled with the free publicity and boost to their sales. Can’t wait to see what else this family wears on tour! Love ’em.True role models.

I love the look of these shoes and the the way British often dress their babies so comfortably, yet beautifully. Children don’t have to wear grungy clothes to be comfortable and able to play. Most people today look as if they just got up from a nap, no matter where they are going or what they are doing….

I can see that we are going to be “treated’ to a “story” every time this kid farts. He’s a baby, like any other. He does things all babies do. But I think there are four “stories” on him this week alone. Either it’s about his shoes, his shorts, his hair, or his expressions. Come on, People! Now I know the little snarks will come out and say “If you don’t care, why read it?” Truth be told, I didn’t read it. Just wanted to say I think it’s become overkill with the Prince George “stories.” Kind of like the Kate stories of old; She looked to the right, she looked to the left, she went to the loo, she smoothed her dress, she tossed her hair, she….Enough!

Come on. They’re shoes. Most babies wear shoes at some point. This is hardly cause to write an article.
