Michael Jordan has more to be happy about than just the improved play of his NBA franchise.

His wife, Yvette Prieto Jordan, delivered identical twin daughters Victoria and Ysabel on Sunday, Feb. 9 in West Palm Beach, Fla., his rep confirms.

“Yvette and the babies are doing well and the family is overjoyed at their arrival,” spokeswoman Estee Portnoy says.

The couple announced the pregnancy in November, although they never publicly confirmed that they were expecting twins. After meeting six years ago at a Miami club, Jordan, 51 next week, and Prieto Jordan, 35, tied the knot last April.

Jordan has three grown children — sons Jeffrey, 25, and Marcus, 23, as well as daughter Jasmine, 21, with ex-wife Juanita Vanoy, whom he divorced in 2006 after 17 years of marriage.

He won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls and was a 14-time All-Star and five-time league MVP.

Jordan is the owner of the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats, who are currently the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference and have a chance to make the postseason for the first time since he took over as majority owner in 2010.

remembering him in clubs taking home a different pretty girl each night (unfortunately, even before his divorce), it’s hard to look at this as more than a gold digger who scored (pun intended).

call me a hater (and yes, i’m being one). but, there is a whole other side to jordan that only chicago folks saw in the later years, and it is the furthest thing from a happy family man.

i wish them the best of luck, and hopefully this time it will be different.

I was told I was having identical twins while I was pregnant (they could only see one placenta) but we found out later that they have different blood types and cannot be identical because of that. You don’t know for sure unless you test to see if they are identical. The placentas can fuse together early on and act as one placenta.

Genibre2013. – my great grandmother was named Ysabel. I guess her mom was a trendy lady back in the late 1800s in Mexico.

Congratulations to them! Is it me or does it seem like twins are as common as singletons these days? What is going on? I can only think of 5 sets of twins growing up. In the last 10 years twins births have exploded, esp. in the celebrity world.

Sun- You can also tell if twins are identical if they share an amniotic sack or a chorion (the outer sack, there are actually two). Fraternals always have their own.
