It’s a girl for Vern Yip!

The Design Star judge and his partner welcomed a daughter, Vera Lillian Beatrix, via surrogate on Saturday, March 12, he tells PEOPLE.

Vera joins big brother Gavin Joshua Mannox, 14 months.

“We are thrilled and excited to add a new member to our family. On March 12th, Vera Lillian Beatrix came into the world and she is perfect in every possible way,” Yip tells PEOPLE.

“It is safe to say that we are all completely in love! Her big brother Gavin has already been taking good care of her, kissing her head and offering up his toys.”

She’s so cute! And I love her name, very classic and pretty. Two babies so close in age, wow.

Mallory on

Lovely name! She’s beautiful!

Andrea – I think Mannox is just Gavin’s second middle name. Don’t know what their last name is, though.

Bree on

Congrats!! Not a fan of the name Vera but it fits her.

Such a little doll, very envious of all the hair!! My hair was so fair as a kid that you couldnt see my eyebrows until I was three lol.

Now these are actual girl names, well done to the couple! And yet people moan about Skyler when a) its more popular for boys, b) it actually IS a boy name c) its not made up or trend-ee

Jamie on

Beautiful baby! I love Vern – he seems like such a sweet, kind man!

Angela on

I love her name. It is a family name of our family. She is beautiful.

Alicia on

Beautiful family! Vera is a beautiful name, Congratulations!

Sam on

I don’t know of these people but that baby girl is a doll. Yes, two babies so close in age. Some people like it that way (get it done!), others, like me, prefer to give it a few years in between. Either way congratulations to your family!

Amy on

She is a stunning baby!!! Congratulations.

Mina on

I LOVE the name Vera Lillian Beatrix. All 3 names are classic.

Momof3girls on

She’s beautiful….looks like a doll πŸ™‚

She is absolutely precious…there is nothing like a newborn! I love how Vern is wearing a pink shirt holding his baby girl – cute!

TC on

Absolutely gorgeous!

They have their hands full though, a 14 month old and a newborn. Wow.

Marla on

Aww! what a cutie. Boy, will they be busy!. I have 3, who are each 2 years apart and that nearly did me in. But I liken having children close together to ripping off a bandaid. Do it all at once instead of spreading out the pain (don’t get me wrong, I love parenting, but it is so exhausting when they are small). It’s not for everyone, but this is what worked for me and I wouldn’t change it.

Congrats to Vern and his partner!

Vera is the name of Vern’s late mother and what a wonderful way of honoring her.

Kayla on

What a precious doll! I hope she inherited her daddy Vern’s cute dimples.

klutzy_girl on

And I love the name. Those are three names I love!

SAR on

So tiny! Congratulations to Vern and his partner and the baby’s new big brother. I remember reading about Gavin’s birth but I had no idea they were having another baby.

Mia on

Beautiful name + Beautiful baby girl!–congrats to them!! I love the name.

robinepowell on

I can guess that Vera is from Vera Wang, but the rest of the names are interesting. Just one question, did they use the same surrogate mother?

Corrie on

Beautiful baby with a beautiful, old fashioned name. Congratulations to Vern, his partner and big brother Gavin on the new arrival!

Beck on

Soooooooooooooo cute!!!! I love those cheeks! It’s weird cause I never thought I would like the name Vera but it’s actually grown on me. Congrats!

Amanda on

I wonder if they used the same surrogate as she looks just like her older brother. What a sweet baby!

Olivia on

How pretty she is, and I love her name!

Catherine on

Quite possibly one of the most beautiful name combos I’ve heard in a long time!! (Emily Proctor’s Philippa Frances comes to mind as well.) Congrats to this gorgeous family! I remember Gavin’s nursery being one of the coolest I’d ever seen – I bet her nursery is divine. Hope we get to see pics of that as well!

Jes on

She’s beautiful, and her name is very classic and eligent, and looks like she will be perfect for her name. Congrats to the new parents, her big brother and their extended family.

Toya L. on

@Momof3girls- haha I didn’t see your comment until after I posted but she does look like a doll. = )

@Alicejane- my last two are 15 months apart and whoooooo =) Let’s just say, mothers of multiples will always have my admiration and respect. LOL It has been an absolute blast though.

Meg on

Both Vera and Gavin have two wonderful people to love and take care of them, and I am sure they will be a joy to both parents. I saw pictures of Gavin’s room when he was born and would love to see pictures of Vera’s room – I TOTALLY love the way Vern designs rooms!

KRISTIE on

Vern was a designer on TLC’s show Trading Spaces at one time.

Vickie on

What a cutie! Vera Lillian was my Grandmother’s name πŸ™‚

My girls are 15 months apart, and now, even in their 40s they are very close. They love each other and are especially close to each other’s children, as well. My sister and I are 11 months apart and have always been close. A lot of it depends on how the parents handle the closeness in age and whether or not they encourage emotional closeness instead of constant competition.

I’ve loved Vern Yip and his wonderful personality for years. I imagine he must be a very loving father. No question whose babies these are; they are gorgeous, just like Vern!

Terri on

She’s beautiful. Wonder if she’s named after Vera Wang. She’s sure to have great syle if so!

MiB on

Vera is adorable! I have to say, I really like the bedding (it reminds me of the bedding I had in my bed as an infant) and I do love babies dressed in white.

Susan Albert on

I have been a fan of Vern Yip for many years, and am very happy for him and his family. His baby girl is just beautiful.

Becky P. on

Love the name, love Vern Yip and wish his family all the best..Yes, she does look like a doll..

JP on

Many blessings to each of you. It doesn’t matter who loves the baby’s name or not. We’ve all had a chance to ‘do it’ to our kids! My grand babies names are ridiculous but I adore the children!

Becky on

@JP..You are soooo right about that..I have a nephew that has four daughters and (IMO) all of them have stripper names and I don’t really like none of them, but they aren’t my children..
