Michelle Stafford Welcomes Daughter Natalia Scout Lee

Following a three-year quest to start a family, Michelle Stafford‘s biggest wish has finally come true.

The Young and the Restless star welcomed daughter Natalia Scout Lee Stafford on Monday, December 21st at 11:23 p.m., her rep confirms exclusively to PEOPLE.

The baby — born via surrogate — weighed 8 lbs., 3 oz. and measured 19 inches in length.

“She is healthy, gorgeous, and amazing — Michelle is out of her mind happy,” the rep says in a statement.

After announcing in September that her decision to turn to a surrogate had been successful and that she was, indeed, expecting her first child, Michelle celebrated the impending arrival with a whimsical baby shower late last month alongside some of her closest friends.

What a fantastic early b’day present; the best one of all! How exciting for her after a long, difficult journey to motherhood. Congrats on the safe arrival of her little girl. I have a 6 year old niece living who’s a Tahlia (which I prefer personally, with the ‘T’), but Natalia’s still a pretty name. Glad she went for the more unusual middle name rather than first name, lol. Think it flows pretty well, like it for some reason.

MS is my fave soap actress, and I’m thrilled for her! She is candid, down-to-earth, and you can tell that family means everything to her. Kudos for being open about her fertility struggles and for going it alone. I admire and respect her and can’t wait to see the little one…she’ll be gorgeous just like her mama, and is lucky to have a mom like MS, who wanted her so badly. Plus, I LOVE the name!

I would imagine it’s no accident that your daughter shares a middle name with the brave, spunky heroine from “To Kill a Mockingbird” and the last name of that classic novel’s author. hey- maybe i’m wrong, but isn’t the main character’s name from ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ Jean Louise Finch? I was sure Scout was just her nickname or something. Anyhoo, glad the baby is healthy, she must be beautiful. I LOVE the second two names. Not very fond of Natalia, as it is fairly common where I come from, but it’s still pretty.

Congratulations Michelle. My husband and I met you about 4 years ago on the set of Y&R and you were so nice to us. You called us cousins because we have the same last name. I am so happy for you.
